Issue
Is it possible for smart phone terminals and FleetDevice to store GNSS location information even when they are out of internet range, and send the location information to the server when they are in internet range?
Answer
It is possible to send location information to the server conditionally even if the smartphone terminal or FleetDevice is out of Internet range.
Explanation
1) In the case of using a smartphone terminal
If there is no signal, the location information is temporarily stored in the device.
When the device comes within range of a radio wave, the location information stored in the device is sent to the server.
Up to 8 hours of location information can be stored.
When logging out, if there is still unsent data on the server, a screen will appear saying that there are X number of unsent data.
When the limit is reached, the oldest unsent data will be deleted first.
The acquisition of the vehicle's location information is not affected by the quality of the communication environment, and the icon is displayed on the mobile device.
Alerts will be triggered based on the map information that has been retained up to the point before communication is lost.
2) FleetDevice
When there is no signal, location information is temporarily stored in the FleetDevice.
Up to 8 hours of location information can be stored.
When the maximum limit is reached, the oldest unsent data will be deleted first.
Stored location information is transmitted for up to one hour during the first two minutes after the product is activated.
If location information is stored for more than 1 hour, it will be transmitted by starting this product multiple times.
(Due to CPU performance, data stored in memory and the latest data cannot be transmitted in parallel.)
